Crochet Projects

When I spent a week in the hospital after giving birth to my twins, I had a lot of short bursts of time inbetween running over to the nicu, pumping and sleeping.  I had seen a lot of crochet things I had on my mental to do list for these babies, and since they came 2.5 months early I had this desire to get SOMETHING finished for them.  So this is what it was!  Now some of these are girly projects but I wanted to learn to make them too.

Now because I was in the hospital I didn't have any buttons!  But you get the general idea.  Once I did get buttons on I gave them away before I got the chance to take better pictures!

Kids Rooms - Inspiration

I find kids rooms the most fun and most challenging to design.  Its fun because you usually can start fresh and give a whole new look to a space, but challenging to find items that aren't too juvenile.  I like a room that can grow up with a kid, without too much changing going on.  Here are some rooms I have loved recently.

Crochet Projects on my to do list...

I love to crochet (as seen here here)  I think its the perfect activity while sitting in a car for 10+ hours on a road trip to Idaho, or just watching a movie.  There are a lot of cheesy crochet projects out there, but here are a few of my favorites.  I will try to make some of these in the near future.

Its Cool to Have a Kid

I just found out about this wonderful restaurant called Bumble in Los Altos.  As if I needed another reason why California has it all.  Not only is the design AMAZING but its concept is wonderful as well.  This restaurant's goal is to: " gather, meet other parents, enjoy a healthy meal with their children, and/or relax with friends while the children play. The menu serves farm-to-table fare most anyone will enjoy- even if you don't bring children along"

If you live near by, check it out and tell me about it.  I think it would be worth the trip!

Can you tell what has been on my mind this week?  I have a place where I HAVE to hang art off center in my house and its driving me crazy.  So I have been looking for things to tell me that it can be OK, if not cool!  Its out of the norm for me, so I will have to work on it!

A Childhood Dream

As a kid I always thought it would be cool to live in an old church.  I am not sure why, maybe because they have long halls, lots of room, and TONS of character?  So when I saw this church that was converted into a house, I was so excited about it!

Everything in the home was bought at an auction for dirt cheap, or reclaimed / found. The kitchen and bath do NOTHING for me, but the living spaces I am so in love with.

Featured Nursery

Lisa @ Turning Tables put together this awesome nursery for her soon to arrive baby boy.  I think it the perfect balance between pattern, bold, whimsical and  classic.  I am sure her son will love it as much as I do!

The crib belonged to her sister and got a fresh coat of grey paint to update it.
