Indian Summer Wedding

I know this post has been months in the making. I was waiting until we got these amazing shots back from V our oh so talented photographer. These pictures are from the wedding I was so fortunate to help plan- and the first one being officially MOD EVENTS AND CO. The inspiration for this wedding came from this gorgeous Bride Debbi. She wanted an Indian summer feeling with a little touch of modern- I was all over that!
Is she not stunning. I've never seen a bride and groom more in love than these guys. It was so fun to work with them. They were layed back yet full of energy. It was really amazing to see there two families merge-
warning cute kid pictures coming!
some pretty presents
gorgeous shot of her bouquet- I love the light in this picture so airy and graceful
Chapstick favors- just in time for some cold calgary weather
shot of the cake
see how in love they are!
Her boquet was filled with gorgeous end of summer colors mostly oranges and browns with hint of eucalptus all tied with gorgeous cream ribbon and pins. Classy yet exotic.
I love brides with flair- always have your something blue be 6 inch heels! Yea can you see why I loved this bride- check out the antique dresser behind it- I adore this photo- awesome job v!
One view of the gorgeous delicious cake- if anyone wants info on who makes amazing cakes this one was by Dorienne Fairbanks- she's mega talented with some mad skills.
Ok I love the bridal party's attire-how cute are those little girls and I love the boys just having the vests and no coats- less formal and adds that pop of color that I love.
Violins played as they walked down the aisle. Ok everyone have to share a moment. As I was telling the kids what order to walk down the aisle I held back the groom. The bride was in the room behind and could see him. the look she gave him was one of pure adoration and love. I almost burst out bawling. He then says to me- she's looking at me isn't she? All I could do was smile and nod my head with much excitement. He smiled the biggest smile I'd ever seen. Then started down the aisle- I got the bride out of her room stratightened her dress and watched her go down the aisle- It's so fun to see everything from the back perspective- I could see friends with tears in their eyes. She looked so beautiful. I could see the kids watching their mom-in awe. It was apretty amazing moment for me and reminded me that this is why I'm in the wedding business. I love raw emotion.
This captures an indian summer in Calgary for me- true beauty
Labels for the food- I wasn't in charge of the food this time- but I loved the idea of a soup bar!
The aisle was lined with tall skinny vases filled with sand and two giant orange gerbs at the end of each pew- it was different and unique and I love how it added so much color- for not a lot of money.
Heres one picture of the centerpieces- pails the I spray painted bronze wrapped with chocolate ribbon and filled with newspaper then oranges on the top. I then took more ribbon and made loops to go in between the holes- the best part is people got to take the oranges home and no wasted centerpieces. When I went to get the oranges I had two full carts of nags of oranges- you should've seen the people asking what I was making for dinner- truly hilarious. The linens were a swirly chocolate color and Brandon and I made 4 posts with a bog x over the top and hung orange and white lanterns from them in the middle was a sculptural structure of them in larger sizes- looked pretty cool.{more pictures to come later}
That morning was so crazy-I woke up it was beautiful and then it started to get overcast and windy- it started blowing all the lanterns off and the ribbons in the centerpieces were getting ruined- tablecloths flying-and then the poles started falling. I love weather...needless to say I was freaking- Luckily my brandon went and got cinderblocks to reinforce them while I was inside doing the ceremony. As soon as they came out dancing to Black Eyed Peas I've got a feeling the sun came out and the wind stopped- of course-lesson learned though always have a back up tent! The reception was super fun. I loved watching their super fun family interact and dance together. They even made shirts to put over their attire while they ate which I thought was a super cute touch. The brother caught the garter with a baseball mitt-and the toss bouquet I made was actually 3 tiny one- cause we knew there would be a bunch of little girls there. They were excited when their turned out to be 3. Anyways It was exciting I think it turned out so beautiful. And I'm so lucky that they let me in on their special day. Congrats Debbi and Bryan.
